YOUNG SLANG AND INTERNET LINGUISTICS THE EVOLATION OR DIGITAL COMMUNICATION
Abstract
The rapid development of digital communication has significantly influenced language evolution, particularly among younger generations. Online interactions, social media, and instant messaging platforms have fostered the emergence of new slang, abbreviations, and linguistic structures that shape modern communication. This paper explores the impact of digital technology on language, focusing on how internet slang evolves, spreads, and influences mainstream linguistics. Additionally, it examines the sociolinguistic implications of online discourse, including identity formation, cultural exchange, and language change acceleration. The study also discusses the role of memes, emojis, and non-verbal digital expressions in communication. By analyzing these linguistic phenomena, we aim to understand how digital communication reshapes language norms and the future of linguistic evolution in an increasingly online world.
