Abstract

This article analyzes the competency-based approach in education, focusing on its key advantages and disadvantages. The approach emphasizes the development of specific skills and competencies that learners must demonstrate to progress. Among the benefits are personalized learning, flexibility, and clear learning outcomes aligned with real-world requirements. However, challenges include the need for accurate assessment tools, teacher training, and the risk of neglecting holistic education. The paper offers insights into how to balance standardization with individualization in competency-based systems.
