Abstract

This article examines the importance of developing communicative competence in language learners within the framework of modern language education. Communicative competence is understood as the ability to use language effectively, appropriately, and meaningfully in various social, academic, and professional contexts. The study highlights the theoretical foundations of communicative competence and emphasizes the role of learner-centered approaches, interaction, and authentic communication in language learning. Particular attention is given to communicative language teaching strategies, performance-based assessment, the integration of technology, and the development of intercultural awareness. The article also discusses existing challenges in fostering communicative competence and suggests pedagogical solutions to enhance learners’ communicative abilities. The findings underline that communicative competence is a key factor in preparing learners for real-life communication in a globalized world.
